FROM 1ST FEBRUARY 2009, WE ARE NOW "SURREY CROSSROADS - GUILDFORD & WAVERLEY"
What does Surrey Crossroads - Guildford & Waverley do?
We provide high quality home based respite care for carers in the boroughs of Guildford and Waverley. We do this by providing professionally trained Carer Support Workers who are able to come into carers' homes and take over, allowing carers to have a short break.

Who is a carer?
A Carer is someone who has the responsibility for providing (and/or arranging) care for someone else who, because of long term illness, disability or old age, is not able to care for him or herself. A Carer is someone who is not paid for the care he/she provides.
A Carer can be:
- a parent
- a son or daughter
- a brother or sister
- a husband, wife or partner
- a relative, friend or neighbour
Young Carers are children and young people who take or share responsibility for the care of another person (Carers Act 1995).
Parent Carers are those with responsibility for a child with disabilities.
Carers can provide from a few hours care a week up to 24 hours a day.
